Hermanos Gutierrez’s Hijos Del Sol has been my ultimate vibe this year! Raw, earthy, and drenched in desert soul. It’s the perfect soundtrack for the trail, with every note making you feel like you’re gliding just above the ground. There’s this hypnotic, levitating energy to it that’s impossible to resist.
I'm all over the map. Sometimes nothing. Sometimes the Bible. Sometimes a podcast about it. Sometimes Des and Kara's podcast. Sometimes music I bought (I'm a "buy it if you like it" person). Lately, I like High Fade's "Life's Too Fast" album. Hardest working band in all of Ireland. Maybe, lol! I also have been listening to a couple of Jesse Welles' albums. And Christmas music.
Almost always music - I've tried Podcasts from time to time but the reality is that when I'm running, I'm running and completely dialled in on that experience and nothing more. No past, no present, no future. Just that moment. Fitness is the only place where I find that absolute calm and music helps keep me in that moment. Podcasts just serve to take me somewhere else.
I oftentimes run while listening to a podcast. I also run listening to music. Also, I like just listening to my breath. Or to nothing at all.
But when I‘m on a long run, I make sure that the last kilometer or so I listen to „No surrender“ by Bruce Springsteen.
I'm not a Boss fan, but I get it. Dancing in the Dark might be more apt for these mornings right now 🤣
or "The River" :)

I'll give it a spin. Maybe it'll work for when I'm gardening.

I'm a big fan of buying the music I like. It's important to me to buy my top albums every year. I want them to continue creating the music I love!
Nothing in my ears while I run either. Maybe I’ll make that change in 2025, but I doubt it.
I don't need to figure out how to keep $200 headphones on my head while moving at this stage of my life
🤣🤣🤣 excellent point. And I will be back in LA next weekend so let’s run the Strand and then get some iced coffee afterwards when I get back.
Deal!
Always Shokz here. They do kinda get in the way of ear warmers though and I don't think they'd work at all with an actual hat.

I love this. It's really, really about that moment - for so many reasons.
