It doesn't make sense but that's what the science says. I talk to Matt Fitzgerald, bestselling author of 80/20 Running about why everyday citizen runners need to run slow to run faster.
This was really helpful. I’ve been running for my entire life ever since I ran cross country in highschool. But I’ve never had much of a “method” other than putting on an audiobook and zoning out for an hour.
Matt Fitzgerald is a fountain of knowledge and so great that you got to speak with him. Running at low intensity is hard! I definitely run to fast but hoping that having to return to running from injury (again) that I will finally embrace running at an easy pace.

Great to hear! A little bit of thought goes a long way. I hope you get a little progress.
Thanks!
80/20 is a really awesome book. I still run too fast, but I‘m trying to slow down as I know that this will keep me injury-free a bit longer.
