Oof. So glad to be years past the drinking culture. I was one of those folks urging others out for a 'frosty beverage.' I'm glad to now be a novice slo-runner with a love for the variety of non-alcohol frosty beverages available. Nike is evil.

Good stuff. I stopped drinking late last year cause of medication. Long story. Done nearly 70 days. It's easier than I thought, to be honest. Not saying I'll never have a glass again, but I won't be going back to where I was.

I'm sure I'm not too far behind you on that one.

If we were both still out three or four nights a week at gigs of varying quality I doubt we'd be sober

I was going to start 2025 with a bang but got massively sick with influenza over the holidays. Just taking walks for now until my lungs are ready! ;(

The Nike ripoff is really pathetic.

It's always annoying when plans get wrecked by illness. Get better soon!

That first pic and the last pic are everything!

My change for 2025 is to dedicate 20-30 minutes to reading without distraction. I am planning on 2-3x per week but believe that once it takes hold that it will become a daily exercise.

I am guessing this helps my running as it removes me from the world of running and endurance sports altogether which should make running suck less since it will not be all around me all the time!

Are you feeling the threat of burnout from working within the sport? It's a real problem!

I am not feeling burnout but I'm trying to avoid that from happening.

I love hearing the stories of athletes but I also have other interests (business, politics, sports) that I need to make sure I lean into and not leave behind otherwise burnout will happen.
