Thank you for sharing this story about Skid Row Running Club and it's founder Judge Craig Mitchell. I have had the privilege to volunteer with the group mostly by running with them over the past three years or so. It is truly inspiring to see what is happening through the work of the group.

I live in Seattle, another big bastion for unhoused individuals. There are those working on their own solutions for the issue (I used to work for a coffee company that would train recovering addicts and help get them back on their feet) but this sounds like something we should start doing here!

I just visited my daughter, who lives near Venice, and I ran around Venice witnessing the homelessness up close. At one point I almost literally tripped over someone lying in the sidewalk. I also visited my son in Boulder, where young people who are strung out on drugs are multiplying and sleeping in the parks. Your spotlight on the Skid Row Running Club gives me heart. So much more drug treatment is needed.

I have heard that exact story far too many times. More is needed, but I don't think it's forthcoming.
